This 100-acre park will become the largest museum contemporary art park in U.S. and will focus on the interrelationships between art and nature. When faced with a long run on a cold day, I’ve found the promise of a new adventure is a good motivator. I recently made a trip to Strawtown Koteewi Park, located just west of State Road 37 about fifteen minutes northeast of Noblesville in Hamilton County (northeast of Indianapolis). Miles of crushed-stone trails [...]

The place is literally a botanical melting pot that was apparently sculpted by a wave of massive slow-moving glacial sheets.
Okay, I’m no expert on glaciers either but that’s [...]

I’m a hiker – not an extreme hiker – but I love a good jaunt. Two of the most recent jaunts were in Turkey Run and Shades State Parks. Located a half hour or so a part from one another and about 2 hours West of Indy, they have some great easy, medium and rugged [...]

Located just nine miles from downtown Indianapolis, you’d never know you were so close to the city. Fort Harrison was decommissioned as a military base in 1991 and five years later, became [...]
